I’m an ophthalmologist and surgeon from Montreal. I’m currently doing a research fellowship in AI at the UCL Insitute of Ophthalmology & Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In July 2024, I will join the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic for a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship.
My long-term plan is to become a retina surgeon and to establish an emerging technologies lab in Montreal. I use the term ’emerging technologies’ to avoid limiting the scope of our work. I’m expecting that given the current pace of innovation in AI, computing, and hardware, there will be an emergence of new areas and applications, which we could use for the benefit of our patients.
For now, I primarily work in applying machine learning to vitreoretinal diseases, and I’m also interested in integrating virtual reality to surgical education.
